Emmanuel joined Agris from Amiran in Kenya in September 2020, where he had gained extensive experience in collecting, managing and presenting information. He is integral to the development and co-ordination of Agris’ data management systems.

ANDREW FIMISTER

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER MARIS, KENYA

Andrew co-founded Maris in 2009. He has spent his whole career in developing markets, firstly in mainland China in the early 90’s, having studied Mandarin Chinese at Renmin Daxue and having worked for Sino-British joint ventures in Beijing and Jinan. Following an extended period in operational roles within the humanitarian sector across Europe, Central Asia and Africa, he returned to the private sector working in early stage exploration projects in Angola.  From 2008 – 2017 he was based in Maputo working for Maris, but home is now Nairobi, Kenya.

JOHANNES GUNNELL

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER MARIS

Johannes serves as Maris’ Business Development Director and is a member of the Executive Committee. He has a background in equity capital markets at UBS and extensive experience in deal sourcing, structuring, and fundraising across Africa. He is a former Partner at Maris Capital Advisors LLP and has been integral to several high-value exits and corporate restructurings. Johannes holds a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Oxford University. 

RICHARD HOUGH

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AFRICA LOGISTICS PROPERTIES, KENYA

Richard has spent his career developing modern warehousing in emerging markets, moving to ALP from Raven Property Group, Russia. He took over as CEO in May 2019 and is leading the expansion of the business into our new site in Nairobi West and new markets. Richard is a chartered accountant and holds numerous construction qualifications that he has accumulated during his career build over 2 million square meters of industrial parks.

RAN KADOSH

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AGRIS GROUP, KENYA

Ran came to Agris from Amiran Kenya, part of the Balton CP group, which supplies a broad range of agricultural inputs, irrigation systems and greenhouses. He has extensive experience in the agriculture sector in East Africa and strong links with market-leading Israeli companies and producers. He is a graduate of the Hebrew University in Israel.

JOYCE KIPRUTO

ESG OFFICER MARIS, KENYA

Joyce leads ESG integration and reporting for the Fund, ensuring compliance with IFC Performance Standards and DFI requirements. She previously served as ESG Data Analyst at Maris and brings strong capabilities in data-driven sustainability reporting, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory compliance. She holds a degree in Environmental Planning and Management and is currently completing a postgraduate certificate in sustainable business at Cambridge CISL.

Sally was our first employee, joining Maris Kenya in 2012 with a Diploma in Business Administration, Public relations/Journalism. In addition to general administration Sally provides support for logistics and procurement.

HARRY MINTER

HEAD OF RENEWABLES MARIS, KENYA

Harry joined Maris in 2012 and has spent the last ten years managing businesses in Kenya, Mozambique and South Sudan. Having started up two portfolio companies, Kaia Village and Equator Energy, he now heads up our renewables division from Nairobi. Prior to joining Maris, he worked for a hedge fund group in London, after gaining a law degree from Edinburgh University. He has Level 3 IMC certificates and an MBA with distinction from Warwick Business School.

BRYAN MUKIRI

INVESTMENT ANALYST MARIS, KENYA

Bryan is a Nairobi, Kenya-based Investment Analyst at Maris, delivering corporate finance, financial advisory, and M&A support across Africa. He has collaborated on over USD 100 Mn in transactions in real estate, manufacturing, agriculture, and financial services, unlocking growth and attracting capital. Previously an Investment Analyst at Horizon Africa, Bryan holds FMVA® and CPA (ICPAK) credentials, a BSc (Hons) in Finance, a Certificate in Financial Markets from Yale University, and a UNITAR Certificate in Advancing Sustainable Development in Practice, championing sustainability.

Kasi Mumba

E&S MANAGER EVERGREEN HERBS, KENYA

Kasi became E&S Manager at Agris in June 2022. This was a natural move from her role as HR and Administration Manager at Evergreen Herbs. She is a trained Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, as well as a Certified Mediator.

IAN MUSYOKA

GROUP ACCOUNTANT MARIS, KENYA

Ian Musyoka is a seasoned finance and accounting professional with over seven years of experience in financial reporting, tax compliance, budgeting, and audit. As the Group Accountant at Maris Kenya, Ian provides critical financial analysis and support to the company and diverse portfolio of subsidiaries, spanning sectors such as renewable energy, services, and agriculture. Ian holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from Strathmore University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K).

Alex Mwanzo

ALEX MWANZO

GENERAL MANAGER EQUATOR MOBILITY, KENYA

Prior to joining Maris in 2021, Alex was a lithium battery engineer at Aceleron, and before that an Electric Vehicle Engineer at Roam (formerly Opibus). He leads Maris’ ventures in the electric mobility sector, which sits within the Renewables division. He Holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Kenyatta University in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and is a graduate member of Kenya’s Institution of Engineers, as well as the Engineers Board of Kenya.

OFFICE MANAGER LONDON MARIS, KENYA

Clare joined us in 2016 from the UK House of Commons where she worked as a Parliamentary Assistant and PA to MP/HNWI. She has 8 years’ experience working as a PA at Board Level and provides support to senior management in the UK. She has a BSc (Hons) degree in International Fashion Marketing.

Janet joined Maris in Jan 2020 with more than ten year’s experience in financial accounting, planning, reporting and analysis across East Africa and the Middle East. She holds an MBA in Strategic Management, is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).

Alex Puxley

Alex is the Finance Director of Agris and co-ordinates the central finance functions of Maris Group, as well as providing support to our portfolio companies. Prior to joining us he read history at Oxford University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young UK.

THOMAS SKAPER

MANAGING DIRECTOR EVERGREEN HERBS, KENYA

Thomas joined Evergreen Herbs in 2020 and has worked in the fresh produce sector since 1998. He has held senior management positions at several of Kenya’s largest horticulture and floriculture producers and exporters where he was responsible for the end-to-end development and management of operations. He began his career in the UK in a variety of commercial roles with TESCO Plc and Lidl International.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER MARIS & ACTING CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER MOPANI GOLD, KENYA

Charles is the co-founder and Executive Chairman of Maris Limited. He has over 25 years of experience investing in Sub-Saharan Africa and has built Maris into a diversified platform with over 20 active investments across real estate, agribusiness, renewable energy, mining, and services. Charles oversees firm-wide strategy,
investor relations, and governance and sits on multiple investee boards. Prior to founding Maris, he worked in financial services in London and Cape Town.

HELEN VINCENT

BOARD SECRETARY AND EXECUTIVE ADMINISTRATOR

Prior to joining, Helen spent a decade working at Africa Matters Limited with Baroness Lynda Chalker, gaining a wealth of knowledge working with governments across the African continent. While at AML, she was Personal Assistant to the Board and Event Manager, leading the event collaboration with trade and industry bodies, and managed high level Africa-focused investment events including the Global African Investment Summit and the Nigerian and Ugandan Presidential Roundtables.

Helen holds a BSc in Geography from Portsmouth University, where her geographic focus centred on South Africa and Mozambique.

LEVITIAN WAYUA

RESEARCH ANALYST MARIS, KENYA

Levi leads market research, investment screening, and data analytics for the Group and Renewables divisions. He brings prior experience in commercial research, project management, and humanitarian data analysis, with strong capabilities in dashboard design, GIS mapping, and data interpretation. Levi holds a BCom in Marketing and certifications in Data Science, Humanitarian Data Analysis, and Research Methods, with experience across the renewables, humanitarian, health & social, FMCG, technology, and agriculture sectors.
