META Group Africa acquires Kemach JCB Zambia

META Group Africa, in partnership with Muscat Overseas Group, has acquired 100% of Kemach JCB Zambia. This is part of an ongoing expansion drive across East and Southern Africa, supporting infrastructure and construction projects of all sizes, and allowing the group to service multinational clients in multiple locations.

Zambia’s mineral-rich copperbelt region, on the border with the southern Democratic Republic of Congo, is enjoying rising prices fuelled by the global green energy transition and declining scrap stocks. This is boosting demand for quality construction equipment and commercial vehicles.

JCB is one of the world’s largest machinery manufacturers. The Zambian acquisition takes to four the number of countries in which META Group Africa is the exclusive JCB distributor: Angola, Tanzania, Zambia and Rwanda.

Kemach JCB Zambia will be led by a new General Manager, Collins Musonda, who has been with Kemach JCB since 2015. META Group Africa has also incorporated a business in Uganda – META Plant and Equipment Uganda – with new premises on Kampala-Jinja highway, Kampala. Venu Kumar has been appointed as General Manager. Venu has worked in the construction, mining, and agriculture equipment sector for 16 years, in both MNC and dealership operations.
